This year’s two-day event opens with a Captain’s Party from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Friday, June 17, at Marker 37 (13317 South Padre Island Drive) with free food sponsored by Onyx Engineering and Saltwater Grill, drinks and a sneak peek at raffle items. At least one team member must attend the party to pick up packets with tournament rules, goodie bags and other items.
Anglers fish from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, June 18. Angler weigh-in is scheduled 1 to 3 p.m., and contestants must be in line by 3 p.m. to get their fish weighed.
Individual awards for first, second and third place will be given for the following categories: heaviest single speckled trout, heaviest single redfish and heaviest flounder. A single team award will be given for the heaviest stringer not to exceed two trout, one redfish and one flounder. The event also features side pot payouts for an additional fee at registration, along with a Father’s Day Special Prize for father-son and father-daughter teams.
